What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies let a site remember things between page loads or visits: a setting you chose, a session you started, or, in the case of advertising and analytics, a way to count visits and serve relevant ads.
Categories of cookies on this site
Strictly necessary
mbabynames is a static site. We do not use cookies to run essential functionality. Your browser may store small, non-identifying preferences (for example, whether you have dismissed a banner) using local storage. These never leave your device.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. GA4 may set cookies (typically _ga and _ga_<property>) and process limited data on Google's behalf. The data we see is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.
Advertising
We display ads through Google AdSense. AdSense and its advertising partners may set cookies to measure ad performance, prevent the same ad being shown repeatedly, and (where you have consented or where applicable law permits) personalise ads based on your interests. Examples include __gads, __gpi, and cookies set by doubleclick.net.
Affiliate
When you click an affiliate link (for example, an Amazon product link), the destination site may set a cookie that identifies us as the referrer. mbabynames itself does not set this cookie; it is set by the destination's affiliate network.
How to control cookies
You can clear, block, or restrict cookies through your browser settings. Major browsers all support per-site controls and a global "block all cookies" option, though blocking all cookies may break some features of many sites.
To opt out of personalised advertising specifically:
- Manage your Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
- Opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on.
- Use the industry opt-out pages at youradchoices.com (US) and youronlinechoices.com (EU/UK).
Consent in the EU, UK, and California
Where required by law, our advertising partners present a consent management interface before non-essential cookies are set. If you decline, only strictly necessary storage is used and ads served are non-personalised. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing cookies for this site and reloading.
Updates
We will update this page when the cookies on the site change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
