mbabynames is a static website that does not require an account or a sign-in. We do not collect personal information from your visit unless you actively send it to us (for example, by emailing us or signing up for the journal newsletter). To support the site, we run privacy-respecting analytics and sell our own name prints. The full detail is below.

What we collect directly
Browsing the site does not require an account. We do not collect names, addresses, or any other identifying details unless you choose to send them to us. Search queries you type into the on-page name finder are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers as personal data.
If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence so we can reply to you. We do not use those addresses for anything other than answering you, and we do not add them to a marketing list without permission.
If you sign up for the journal newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. We use it solely to send the newsletter, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site at an aggregate level: which pages are popular, which devices people use, and where traffic comes from. Google Analytics may set cookies and process limited data (including anonymised IP and a randomly generated identifier) on Google's behalf. We do not sell or share this data, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
mbabynames does not display third-party advertising. There are no ad-network cookies or trackers on the site.
The print shop
When you buy a print, payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout pages; we never see or store your card details. Your cart is kept in your own browser's local storage until you check out. Order details (name, shipping address, items ordered) are used only to print and deliver your order through our print partner, and for the records we are legally required to keep.
